This steak pizza recipe is something truly special. It successfully combines multiple bold flavors in ways that turn this pizza almost into something more of a steak sandwich.
While this steak pizza uses blue cheese and there may be some divisive opinions about blue cheese, this pizza can really harness the bold, sharp flavor of the cheese and it just works well with the peppery rocket and the horse radish. However, if you are certain you don't want to use blue cheese, you can use some other strong cheese like camembert or fontina.
Perhaps the most uncommon element of this pizza is Biltong, a South-African beef jerky. You may not find this in every supermarket so you can use some other dried meat or jerky of your choice. The true unsung hero of this steak pizza is horse radish which is a classic pairing with steak.
Next time you are planning a pizza party, try this naughty pizza out and take your taste buds on a trip.

Steak Pizza Directions
In case you do not have a cast iron pan available for your pizza oven, you can also cook the steak using a (preferably steel) frying pan.
Step 1
Preheat a cast iron pan over low heat in the Revolve Pizza Oven
Step 2
Season the steak with salt, add a bit of olive oil, and put it in the hot cast iron pan and into the oven. Let cook for 4 minutes on one side. Turn over and cook for another 3 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the steak from the oven and add butter, rosemary, and garlic to the pan.
Put back in the oven for 30 seconds and place the steak aside to rest (remove from pan to stop cooking)
Step 4
Blend biltong in a blender to turn it into a crumb
Step 5
Stretch your dough and spread the tomato base on the dough.
Step 6
Sprinkle some parmesan and mozzarella on the pizza.
Step 7
Crumble the blue cheese on the pizza and add a bit of olive oil
Step 8
Bake the pizza at 450 degrees for 60-70 seconds until fully cooked.
Step 9
Slice the steak into thin strips.
Step 10
Sprinkle the rocket with some olive oil. Place the rocket on the pizza and add small dollops of horse radish on the pizza
Step 11
Add the steak on the pizza. You can use the juices from the pan as a dressing
Step 12
Finally sprinkle the biltong crumb on the pizza.
Make it your own!
While the steak is sort of required for a steak pizza recipe, you can try out different dried meats instead of biltong as well as other strong cheeses based on what you have or like. Think of foods that you would pair with steak and be creative.
